I Don't Think I Can Cry Anymore

Today is the first day since this past Friday that I haven't cried...

I'm scared and angry.

My anxiety is through the roof!!!

Having not worked in 11 years... just the thought of me being forced to go back to work is giving me near panic attacks.

Without going into too much detail, we received a notice in the mail Friday that my husband would no longer be receiving his Temporary Income Benefits for his injury. They just cut him off. Done. Just like that. Out of nowhere!

Apparently, even though he needs surgery, the doctor who did the MMI rating believes he's at his best.

I'm so angry that they can do this to people!!! The system is broken!

So, for a bit... while we pick ourselves up off the ground and figure out what our next step is... I won't be around as much.

I will be posting Functional Friday tomorrow so that it is up and going for you.

Please bare with me while we sort out this mess...

  1. I'm so sorry to hear your news. I'm feeling like I need to get a job too and even though it's not been 11 years, just 1 1/2 years, I'm scared too. Hang in there, something right will come along when it's the right time.

  2. Oh Angela, I am so so very soory to hear that his benefits are being taken away. Is there a way you could speak with the Doctor about his rating, perhaps it was a mistake! I'll keep you in my prayers that God will intervine in the situation and give you all the strength you need to get through these tough days. Oh sweetie, have faith that although a window has been shut... a grand door may just be opening around the bend with wonderful opportunities for you and your family!

  3. This is awful news, Angela, but I know you'll pull through it. Do consider getting a second opinion, even if it's just someone else reading the MMI results. And consider finding a lawyer to handle the legal appeal; they usually handle it on a contingent basis, and the government has to pay their fees if you win. (Otherwise, you pay nothing.) You're in our prayers.
