Happy Halloween

The kids had a blast tonight. Lots of candy!

The skirt my daughter has on was actually a pair of pants at one point. A few snips, a few stitches and a bit of ruffle.... we have a skirt.

Happy Halloween!!!

Getting Fit And Working Off Energy

A couple of weeks ago, we were notified that the hubster was approved for a work hardening program. This program is basically physical therapy all day. Needless to say, he wasn't looking forward to doing it. But...

now, he's so happy that he did/is getting to. It's gotten him out of the house, moving around and getting some good 'ol social in.

He really seems happy and feeling a bit better. Still in pain, but dealing better.

So, he wants us to start walking. Which is great! We headed to one of the local tracks and walked about 2 miles. While we were walking, I noticed picnic tables and said, "Aw man, wish I would have brought us something for lunch to have a picnic with the kids."

Functional Friday Linky Party #5

Before we jump right on in, I wanted to quickly say Thank You, Thank You, Thank You to those that have submitted your projects over the last few weeks!

I'm trying to bring as much traffic as I can to the party to help show off your crafty-ness.

I would appreciate it (so very much) if you could help spread the word about this party. If you could send a tweet out or mention it on your Facebook page... that would be great! It will help to get your projects and blogs noticed more as well.

Midweek Digi Clique #3 - Scrapbooking Freebie

Halloween Sign Made With A Window Cling

We were at the local Dollar General the other day (we love us some Dollar stores) and we were browsing the Halloween isle. The hubster came across some Window Clings and said, "Why don't you put these on a sign?!"

Thinking that was such a cute idea... I happily obliged!

Today, I made this cutie of a sign with a few supplies I had on hand... a buck worth of squishy spiders and one window cling. The window clings were only a buck, too!

Lists and Life

I swear! My desk is full of lists! Lists on top of my printer. Lists in a pile to the right of me. Lists in my document tray. Lists on my phone.

What I'd really like to do is combine those into one list and... at the least... start marking one or two "to do's" off.

We had a super busy week/weekend and it's continuing into this week, so the list making will have to continue as floating pieces of paper cover my desk.

Functional Friday Linky Party #4

Happy Friday!

I wanted to quickly share with you my project from earlier this week... just in case you missed it.

I've always wanted to make wreaths. I've just never had the chance to... until now. I had so much fun making this Fall Wreath. I made it with a garage sale find and a few items from the local Dollar General.

Let's get started with Functional Friday!

Baked Zucchini Chips - Yummers!

If you are a fan on my Facebook page, you may have seen me mention Mr. Food.

I love this website! There are tons of recipes that are easy to make with a small ingredient list. The best thing is... you probably have most of the ingredients in your pantry or fridge already!

One night last week, I was trying to figure out something to cook for dinner using what we already had on hand (since I was being lazy and didn't want to go to the store). I searched Mr. Food's site and found a Meat Loaf and Potato Casserole recipe. I made it for dinner and it was delish!

Birdhouse Wreath Turned Fall Wreath

One weekend, a couple of years ago, the kiddos went with Nana to a few Garage Sales. They were so excited when they came home with their new finds.

One of the things they got was a birdhouse wreath for our front door. They knew I loved my wreaths and they were so happy they found one for me.

Did I Just Feel Ashamed To Be A Housewife?

My Mom and I went Saturday to a local car dealership to have the oil changed in our cars.

As we were waiting for our vehicles, we started chatting it up with a lady who was also waiting.

She was talking about how long they were taking and that she was already late for her Jenny Craig meeting. She then started talking about her children and how her son was playing football.

I started telling her about my son playing football and how it was a big change for me. How I was used to staying home with not a whole lot going on and then getting used to games, early morning practices and such.

Functional Friday Linky Party #2

I'm still working on my Cross Stitch project and hope to have it completed soon.  I love to Cross Stitch, but wow does it take some time to do.  Especially if it's a detailed piece.

In the meantime, enjoy the projects from last weeks submissions that caught my eye.

Gift Bag Turned Into Wall Art

Back in September, I had the opportunity to be a guest poster on Tiaras and Bowties.  I wanted to share my gift bag project here as well... just in case you didn't have the chance to see it.

I received an adorable gift bag with my Mother’s Day goodies in it. I instantly knew that I wanted to keep it and turn it into something. It was too cute to just throw away or let it be used to hold another present. I had to display it!

One Thing Becomes Many Things

I woke up this morning. Tired. But ready to get this day started. Ready to take my son to school for football practice and get my little girl off to school as well. Ready to start back on my Cross Stitch project.

I hear a little voice calling my name.
