Just a Swingin'...

We're slowly getting back into the swing of things. The hubster started his new job Monday. It's definitely a change from him not working for over 2 years. Trying to get everyone on a schedule again has been a challenge.

I've been making sure to take time to enjoy...

The weather.

 My son's football games. They're undefeated so far! Woot!

A bit of cross stitching.

And cool looking skies.

I'm hoping to get back to making projects soon.

I Don't Want No Stinkin' Lemonade!!!

I've been going over and over in my head how I can word this post to let you know why I haven't been blogging much in the past few days. Everything I came up with was negative. I don't want this to be a negative place to visit, but I didn't know how to tell you why I've been absent without a bit of negativity. So, I put off posting... until now.

We finally got the call (about my husband) that we've been waiting on. In the back of our minds, we knew it was going to be bad news, but we tried to stay positive and hopeful. We thought there was a slight chance that "the evil people" would do what was right. To help my husband. To give him what is owed to him.

But... nope. *Sigh*

You know that saying... When life gives you lemons... Make lemonade?

Well, this is how I feel about these damn lemons that life keeps tossing at us...

There's nothing more we can do. Apparently, they (the evil people) can say no and that's that. He can't fight the decision that they made and is forced to move on. Still injured. We will move on from this. We have to.

Please bear with me as we get things in order around here...

I Can't Believe My Baby Boy Is 14!!!

I can't believe I officially have a 14 year old!

He's super intelligent, is thoughtful and caring, enjoys football, loves art and has a huge passion for gaming. His goal is to go to college and become an architect.

While it makes me a bit sad (and I'm tearing up writing this post...I'm a big baby) that he's growing up so fast, I'm excited for his future and can't wait to see all his dreams come true.
Having fun camping!

Being silly with his sister.

Easter pictures.

Love his chubby cheeks in this baseball picture!
The end of 7th grade... being sill again!

His birthday cake. He's still a kid at heart!

Happy 14th Birthday Little Man!!! xoxoxo

Sanding, Painting and Battle Scars. Fun Times!

I would have had this post up a couple of hours ago, but I just got home. We went to 7 stores in 2 1/2 hours looking for that perfect shirt for the hubster. The sad thing is... we still didn't find the perfect one, but one that will (hopefully) work.

The past couple of months, my family and I have been steadily working on my aunts house. We have made tons of progress, but still have a lot more to go.

We have completed patching, sanding and painting...

* Two bedrooms
* Hallway
* Bathroom
* Living Room
* Dining Room

We still have to complete...

* Sanding the kitchen cabinets
* Painting the kitchen cabinets
* Painting the walls
* Stripping, sanding and painting all the doors
* A few minor repairs on the outside
* Clean up everything
* Replace the carpet in bedrooms, living room and dining room

Here's some of what we've fixed up.

I'm not sure why the pictures turned out so strange and why they look pinkish. The wall is a light tan and all trim is white. It looks so much better in person.

I'm so ready to be done. Extremely tired and sore... this old lady is (in my best Yoda impersonation. No?)

And...

We have a battle scar from today's football practice.

Helmet to arm = bad. My poor guy.

And I can't believe it!!! I will have a 14 year old tomorrow! He's already thinking about driving!
