Coffee Table Centerpiece

For the longest time, I've wanted to create an "everyday" centerpiece for our coffee table.

Ever since I saw these Thumbtack Vase Fillers and Fabric Strip Decor Balls from Landee See, Landee Do, I've wanted to make my own!

I gathered up my supplies and got to work.

I was excited to try out the thumbtack's so I did that first. Fail! I purchased a pack of 70 thinking that would be enough. Nope. I was only able to go around the ball about 2 1/2 times.

Next up was trying out scrapbook paper. I decided to use double stick tape to attach strips of scrapbook paper instead of using Mod Podge. I was being lazy. Well, they stuck... mostly... but I didn't really like how it looked afterwords.

At this point, I was getting frustrated and ready to give up on the entire project. But, I pressed on.

Using fabric... and ribbon on one, this time, I finally accomplished the look I was going for. Here are the decor balls completed and ready to be placed in a vase with their friends (with the exception of the tan one. forgot to take a picture. *smacks forehead*)

In between making the fabric strip balls, I painted a few of the wicker decor balls that I picked up from Wally World. The paint I used was Metallic Pearl White from Folk Art.
And here is the centerpiece all together....
I purchased everything except for the vase fillers at Dollar General.

The only thing that's missing... that I really want to get is a tray for all of them to sit in. I'm keeping my eye out.

Whatcha think so far?!
