Quick and Easy Chicken Wire Picture Frames

Chicken Wire Picture Frames

I wanted something to hang next to the Family Rules Canvas that I made.  I searched all my favorite places for home decor for the right "accent" piece.  I found a couple of wrought iron pieces that I liked but they were too expensive.  That got me to thinking.  What can I make with items that I already have here.

I had seen the adorable chicken wire frames and thought that would go great!  I could paint them to match the canvas.

Taking A Minute To Breathe

Wow!  What a busy few days it's been.  While I have a moment to sit down, I thought I'd write a quick update.  Just to keep my wee little blog going.

My Mother and I have been cleaning out our homes and collecting items for an upcoming garage sale.  You wouldn't believe the amount of stuff we have.  Tons and tons of stuff and a lot of junk to get rid of.  This weekend, we unloaded a truck full of stuff that my grandmother sent for us to include.  Soon... we have to mark everything.  That's going to be a chore.

How My Home Business Attempt Failed

The hubster took the kiddos to Home Depot to pick up some supplies for his new flower beds and I thought I'd take the opportunity to write a post.  I could have waited until later tonight, but I'm impatient.  My brain is being pulled in several directions right now and if I don't get it typed out... I may just forget what I'd like to write.

This one is going to be kind of painful tough for me to write.  I don't like admitting my flaws or what I feel to be my failures, but here goes nothing.

Years ago, back in 2000 (I can't believe it's been that long ago), when I decided to become a stay at home Mom, I was searching for a way to make money from home.  Not only to help out with the bills, but to also give me something to do.

How To Mirror Images In PhotoScape

In this tutorial, I will show you how to mirror your images so that you can have your letters/sayings end up the correct way on a Mod Podge project. Like the Family Rules Canvas Art that I made.

I used PhotoScape which you can get here for free. You can click any of the pictures below to open them up for a larger view.

Family Rules Canvas Art

Family Rules Canvas Picture

I have a "thing" for all those canvas wall hangings that you see in stores nowadays. They always catch my eye. I have a set of three huge ones hanging in our living room and a set of two hanging in our kitchen that my Mother gave to us.

I've been on the lookout for more that I can add to our humble abode but, I couldn't find the "right" one.

The Latest Happenings

Not much really. I've been staying inside and trying to avoid the heat. It's freaking HOT outside. Proof below. I did manage to force myself into going to the store to get toilet paper. I was hoping the Toilet Paper Fairy would show up and take care of business for me. But to no avail. Since we were down to 1/2 a roll of TP, I figured I'd be the Toilet Paper Fairy. It was either that or force my family to use paper towels instead. Ouch!

Florida Vacation - 2010

Last year, about this time, we were heading out to Pensacola, Florida for our Family Vacation. We drove the entire way, from Texas to Florida, so that we could make a few stops along the way.

My husband wanted this to be our vacation spot because he had been there many times for his job. The home office for the company he works for is in Pensacola.

We thought we weren't going to be able to go because that was the time when the oil spill happened and the oil was just starting to reach the Florida beaches. We decided to go anyway because we really wanted the kids to see what it was like to at least put their feet in the sand.

Mini Gallery Wall

I was inspired to make my own "mini" gallery wall after browsing through all the pictures of the Gallery Walls and Wall Arrangments on the Internet. Like the ones at The Inspired Room.

We gave our bedroom a facelift and I also gave my kiddos picture collage a facelift as well. Then, I gave them another facelift.

Well, after staring at them for a couple of weeks on the wall, the blue wall with the blue paper wasn't working. So, they are moving to one of our Cappuccino White walls and I replaced them with a mini frame arrangement made from scrapbook paper.

Mixed Feelings

This school session is coming to an end in a couple of days. My kiddos will be in 5Th and 7Th grade.

I don't know why, but I always get a bit sad and happy when school starts and ends. Are there other Mom's that feel this way or am I just crazy?

I'm happy because they will be home with me for a couple of months before school starts up. I truly love my kiddos being home. On the other hand, I'm sad. School being over, for now, means they will be in a higher grade and they will be going to different schools again.

It means... they are growing up. I guess I want them to stay little. Not forever, just a bit longer.
