Finding Time To Do It All

Is there such a thing? Being able to get it all done? I have so many projects that I want to do, so many things that I need to do and so many things that I have to do. I'm just wondering if I will ever be able to get it all done. It's gotten to the point where I have so much going on in my head that I don't even know where to begin.

Here are the things that I need/want/have to get done:

Just a small list...

* Clean Master Bedroom & Bathroom
* Wash Sheets on all beds
* Clean Filters
* Laundry
* Dishes
* Clean out from under kitchen sink
* Dust
* Vacuum
* Two canvas projects (either paint or with fabric)
* Three wall arrangement projects
* Rearrange two bedrooms
* Two lamp projects
* Paint two headboards
* Go through two of my craft areas
* Figure out something with kitchen curtains
* Paint kitchen, living room, hallway, kids bathroom and kids bedrooms
* Wash car
* Make grocery list
* Son's physical for football
* Dentist appointment for kids
* Two cross stitch projects
* Sew more towel dresses (still don't know what I'm going to do with these)

Guess I better get some rest so I can get started tomorrow. :)

Home Organization Plan

I try to be as organized as I can. Well, not so much lately. It seems things have gone awry. The killer dust bunnies are at it again and I'm embarrassed to mention the hair balls that seem to follow us around the house.

I can remember to do the daily tasks like laundry (ewww) and dishes (ewww), but seem to forget things like cleaning the oven, cleaning the microwave, the baseboards, etc. I'm so ashamed to admit it. Yes, I'm a slacker housewife... at times. Hence the blog name.

Cross Stitch Wall Arrangement - Redo

I couldn't just leave it alone. I'm like that. I will do something and then redo something a kazillion times until I like it.

So, I posted about the Cross Stitch Wall Arrangement that I made for my daughters room. But, something was bothering me about it.

I liked it. But didn't love it.

So, I switched things around and removed a couple of things.

My Cloth Husband

I have a sense of humor that I think most people may not get. Sometimes I think the only person that "gets" me is my husband.

You may think I'm totally insane or have fallen and bumped my head.

Random conversation between the hubster and I:

We were laying in bed talking before slipping off into our wonderful la la land. AKA sleep.

The Hubster: "I can't stand that pillow. It's always between us."

Cross Stitch Wall Arrangement

It's finally finished! This project took many hours to do. But, my daughter really liked it. It was worth all the time it took.

This one is my favorite because she has my daughters name. I even stitched her hair red to match my little girls. The only difference is that my daughter has super curly hair and she doesn't wear glasses. I told her to think of them as super cook sunglasses.

Pay no attention to the wrinkles in the fabric. It's really hard to get Aida cloth to iron flat and it's usually pulled tight to place inside a frame but I couldn't with these (more on that below).

Mrs. Grouchy Pants

Yes, that is what the hubster called me this morning. After saying, "I'm glad you're in a better mood today."

You see, when things get hectic around here... I kind of become aggravated. I tend to worry too much and become a not so nice person.

Sunday is usually my day to get caught up on laundry and get everything together for the upcoming week.

So, why I'm busily doing laundry, dishes, sweeping, vacuuming, making the bed, getting the kids started on chores, etc.... the hubster is sleeping. He literally slept all day.

It doesn't matter that he is on pain meds that make him drowsy. No, it sure doesn't. If I'm up. He has to be up too. Now, if I want to take a nap that's okay.

It's weird but he motivates me. If he is sleeping or on the computer or watching TV... I will want to do the same. So, I tend to get grouchy.

Hey! I'm working on it! Don't judge! I will try harder to be nicer. I'm really supportive. I swear!

I'm happy to say that things have calmed down here a bit.

Our son has his football forms turned in and just needs the physical now.

Picture orders are filled out and on their way to school tomorrow.

And the biggest relief.... the kids lunch "issue" has been taken care of.

I almost have my daughters room project complete and have been snapping pictures to post. Yay!

Off to get some rest so I'm not Mrs. Grouchy Pants tomorrow.

Update On My Whining

In a previous post, I was whining about everything that has happened here within the last week. Well, someone needs to call a wambulance because I'm still going strong.

Just to update on the craziness that is going on with my kiddos school and stuff...

I mentioned how my son lost his backpack at the band thingy. Well, I called the school Monday where the band thingy was and was told that the band director there gave it to my son's band director Saturday. My son received his backpack Wednesday. Five days after it was "lost".

My son tried to turn in his football sign up forms Tuesday and was told to hold them. No further explanation... no hold them until Friday. So, he asked again yesterday if he could turn them in Monday since he would not be there Friday (because of band) to turn them in. We found out they were due then. The coach said sure.

Next on the agenda:

Tole Painting

I have a multi style for decorating. I don't like one particular style. My style is more country-shabby chic-modern. I've yet to accomplish decorating our home with those styles. But, putting things together little by little is the fun part. Right?

I've always enjoyed the look of Tole Paintings. I haven't had much time to paint (other than parts of the casa) with everything going on lately.

Here are a few pavers that I painted with this technique:

Mommy's Freaking Out

It's that time of the year again when I start getting all stressed and freaking out.

It's that time of year again when the school that my children go to start throwing everything at you at once. Do all of the schools do this?

This past Friday, my son had a band competition (where he lost his backpack and we still haven't gotten back). Supposedly, his band teacher received it, but his band teacher has not mentioned it to my son... as of yet. My son received a 1 for his performance and received a medal. Woot!

Mother's Day Pictures

I wanted to get a nice picture of my kiddos for Mother's Day. But... they just weren't working with me. I had this whole post planned out. It was gonna say the two reasons why I love being a Mom along with two pictures (one of each of my kiddos). All nice and sweet and stuff.

So.....

this is how they turned out...

Bad Luck Time Again?

Negative: A week or so ago, when a bad storm rolled through town, we just about flooded out our car. Headlights under water kind of bad.

Positive: The car is running normal again.

Negative: The hubsters memory stick went out on his computer. Well, not the actual stick... the holder.

Positive: It's only one side. So, it's partially running. I think we can replace the one that works with double memory. (Yes, I know all of the super savvy computer words)

Negative: My son's backpack was stolen at a band contest that he attended Friday. He was really upset because it had his binder, school planner, pens, pencils and the sign up form/packet for him to play football next year.

Positive: He got new school supplies and backpack. I think I can get another packet Monday... hopefully.

Negative: My son's TV went out. Poof... done... tube blown. Ugh.

Positive: I guess he doesn't really need a TV in his room anyway. Plus, I was wanting to get rid of the entertainment center in his room.

Yay us!

I'm trying to find the positive in it all. Everything happens for a reason, right?

Happy Mother's Day to all of you wonderful Mom's!!

How To Make A Topiary

Handmade Topiary

I've always loved the look of topiaries. I just haven't seen one that I could purchase. So, I decided to make one myself.

It was super easy and fun. Now, I have to make at least 3 more for the house.

Here's how you can make your very own.

Burrr...

I.can.barely.type. Fingers.are.nearly.frozen. Must.not.turn.on.heat.

I'm trying to save some moola but I may just give in. Just when it was starting to warm up... bam! Cold!

I'm so not ready for the hot Texas weather. It would be nice if it would stay "mid" weather. You know, not hot... not cold.

I'm praying that our a/c unit doesn't give up on us just yet. We've been having problems with it leaking over the last couple of years. That's a whole other complaint. I have many of those lately.

Plans today:

Clean up kitchen to get it ready for a painting makeover.
Finish up laundry.

Lets see how far I get today.

I'm happy to say... I was able to get some cross stitching done last night for my little girl's room project. I have 5 completed and 3 more to go.

K. That's it! Off to turn on the heat for a bit.

Our Humble Home

I read Mom blogs. All the time. I think I'm addicted or something. Many of the blogs I read have posts about their beautiful homes. How they remodeled a room in their home. How they took a garage sale or thrift store find and turned it into something awesome.

I read their blogs... dreaming about how our home can possibly look one day. I know that it's a process and doesn't happen over night. Wouldn't that be awesome!? A house makeover fairy. She would just come in while you were sleeping and magically your house would be beautiful the next morning.

But, looking at all the beautiful homes on the net kind of made me feel bad about our home. You see, we live in a mobile home... aka trailer. Geez, I dislike that word very much.
