Picture Collage Makeover - Redo

There was something I just didn't like about the previous re-design of the picture's that I made.

They were lacking in the color department and I didn't like the way I did the layout of the scrapbook paper. So.... I did a redo.

I used the same scrapbook paper. I just moved it around a bit and added some Digital Scrapbook flowers that I printed out.

I also thought the pictures needed a bit more. So, I put little frames around them.

Picture Collage Makeover

I've had these collage type pictures for a while and I've never really liked how plain they are. So, I decided to revamp them.

I didn't have scrapbook paper that was big enough to cover the entire frame in one piece so I decided to piece scrapbook paper together.

I may still end up re-doing them in the future, but for now, it will work.

I used the original mini frames to trace around the pictures and cut them out. Then, I simply taped them on the scrapbook paper.

Master Bedroom Makeover

I don't have a proper before picture of our bedroom because... umm... I forgot. I was so excited to get started. But, I did manage to remember before it was completely painted.

Our bedroom had those lovely dingy walls and the awesome brown trim at the top. We painted the trim and ceiling white and the walls Cappuccino White... except for one wall that we painted Sea Spray. It's opposite of our bed.

I didn't mention this in my Master Bathroom Makeover post, but we also painted the ceiling and trim white in there.

And the after photos:

The only thing I still don't like about this room is that we have to have our computers in here. It still looks cluttered even though it's cleaned up. Drives me a bit batty.

Master Bathroom Makeover

We decided that it was finally time to give our home a makeover. For a couple of years now, I've been wanting to paint and "simplify" the casa. The hubster agreed.... since it's been long overdo.

We started with the Master Bathroom to test out our chosen paint colors. This is known as our testing room because we've been known to be very... very wrong on our color choices. Proof below.

I Don't Have Enough Projects

Since I have multiple projects I'm wanting to complete and we've added Spring Cleaning... we decided to add one more itty bitty project.

Painting.

Yes, we decided to paint the entire interior of our home. Ceilings, trim, walls... you name it.

Although, it's a lot of work, it will be nice when it's completed.

I'll try to take some before and after pics to post here.

The colors we chose are from Glidden... Cappuccino White, Sea Spray and Fresh Guacamole for the kitchen. The kids chose their own colors for their rooms.... Orchid Blush and Cool Cobalt.

The plan is to paint one accent wall in each room just to add a bit of color. The ceiling and trim will be white with the remaining walls Cappuccino White.

Back to work!

The When To Wash It Handbook

Did you know...

You do not need to wash your jeans or bras after you wear them only once? Well, unless they get really funky.

The hubster found this nifty little guide online to let me know that I'm wasing too often.

That's awesome! Anything to cut down on laundry time is great!

The brilliant folks from Real Simple came up with The When To Wash It Handbook. You have to check this out ladies! (just click the words to take you there)

I Think I'm Addicted and Other Fun Facts

Starbucks Vanilla Frappucino

{source}

My addiction:

You see, my wonderful husband likes to spoil me when he can. Whenever he goes to the grocery store or convenience store, he always picks me up one of these babies.

Isn't she beautiful!

I'm pretty sure... at this point... I'm addicted.

Fact #1: I think I'm getting old knee syndrome.

While bending down... over and over... and over "Spring Cleaning" our restroom (only 6 more rooms to go), I heard these nifty little pops coming from my knee area. Those were followed by several owwwws.

Fact #2: I believe my arms have grown longer.

It just has to be longer arms or our door frames have shrunk. You see, they tend to jump out and smack me right in the elbow when I pass through.

Fact #3: I have old lady syndrome.

I least I drive like one now. I used to drive a bit faster but now... I just creep down the road.

Fact #4: I can't get my boohiney in gear in the mornings.

I literally roll out of bed. I just don't want to get up. It's probably from me staying up too late. Ya think? But, why can I stay up so late even when I can barely get anything going in the morning... yet, at night... I'm full of energy. Mostly.

Fact #5: I love me some Vanilla Frappi's!

I'm off to take a nap... or cross stitch. I can't decide which one. Why is it that I stay up so late again?

Oh My Aching Back

I'm more out of shape than I originally thought. I'm completely wore out tonight. My back is hurting pretty bad and my tootsies are throbbing. Too... much... cleaning and organizing!

I've been on this kick lately. I want to clean and organize the house. Tonight the hubster and I tackled the pantry and laundry room. We recruited the help of our two littles.

I'm embarrassed to say that the dirtiness is much worse than I thought and I can't wait to see the rest of the house.

We completely pulled everything out of the pantry and laundry room. While I went through everything, the hubster and son wiped down everything... walls, floors, light fixtures, shelving... you name it. Then we pulled out the washer and dryer to clean behind them. Attack of the Dust Bunnies!

After all the hard work was done. We put everything back and it looks much more organized, clean and smells great.

I thought about posting before and after pics but that would be way too embarrassing.

Tomorrow, I may tackle our bathroom and possibly the bedroom.

I'm also excited that all but one load of laundry is done! I washed four loads today and four yesterday. Yes, I was a bit behind.

Happy Spring Cleaning!

Stress!? What's That?

My grandmother passed away... the day after our anniversary. I miss her terribly but I know she's in a better place and no longer in pain.

My aunt is doing great since her heart surgery. I have been going over to her house every morning to help her out.

My husband finally received his steroid injection for his back on the 7th and it was very painful. We are hoping that his pain will decrease in a couple of days. He's hoping that he doesn't have to have another one. We have no idea what the next step is for him or where he goes from here. Which is very scary. We are thinking... surgery. Which freaks me out.

In the meantime, I've been trying to keep my mind off of things by crafting. I've been working on a special project for my daughter which includes 8 cross stitch pictures and 8 wood frames that will be painted.

Just trying to keep myself busy...

Easter Wreaths

I've been on this wreath kick lately. I've held myself back from purchasing them and I'm sure my husband thanks me. :) I only have two. I would like to have one for every holiday. But, right now, my storage situation won't allow it. One is my everyday wreath and the other is an Easter Wreath purchased from Hobby Lobby. I was originally looking for something with pastel colors but ending up finding one with pink and chocolate brown. I'll have to post a picture as soon as I hang it up.

In the meantime, check out these cuties from Etsy:

Some of My Favorite Things

I just wanted to share a few of my favorite things from around our home. My all time favorite place to purchase Home Decor Items is Hobby Lobby! I love, love, love their items. Their prices can be steep but if you wait for their sales, you can get many items at a great price. Also, Dollar General has really cute items from time to time.
Seashells
Last summer, we went to Florida for a family vacation and I, of course, had to get some seashells! We stopped by a place called Seashell City and they had a kazillion shells. I would love to go back. I purchased a glass jar and beach sand from Target to put these beauties in.
Modern Picture Frame
I had seen this picture frame at Hobby Lobby and I just had to have it. The best part... it was 50% off!
Love Picture
This is one of my finds from Dollar General. I love the colors in this picture. It hangs above our bed. I think I only paid $10 for it.
Inspiration Picture
Another one of my Dollar General finds. An inspirational picture and the sconce thingys I purchased from Michaels I believe.
Infused Vinegar Bottles
Infused Vinegar bottles. I have these all around my kitchen in various sizes and shapes but this set is my favorite. I received this as a gift for Christmas from my aunt and uncle.
Flower Picture Frame
This is my most favoritist (I know... not a word) picture frame that we own. I found this beauty at Hobby Lobby for 50% off!
Floral Birdhouse
I really like this birdhouse too. It's hand painted and was given to me by my aunt. The kids have dirtied up and made a pen mark on the wall behind it. My hubby says they just wanted to add some flavor to the house.
Beach Picture Frame

Lastly, our Beach picture frame purchased from... you guessed it... Hobby Lobby! It's home is in the bathroom next to the sink in my kiddos bathroom. Please pay no attention to the ugly green counter and the water splash marks on the frame. :)

What are your favorite things around your casa?

Easter Chick Dish Towel Dress

Easter Chick Dish Towel Dress

This is absolutely my favorite Dish Towel Dress that I've made so far. I just love the colors! Even though she wasn't nice to me while I was trying to create her... I still heart her.

How cute is the little chick on the front? Adorable!

Easter Chick Dish Towel Dress

I went searching for the perfect yellow polka dot fabric to compliment this towel. I ended up going to Hobby Lobby, Joann's and Walmart but couldn't find what I had in mind. So, I searched and searched online and ended up finding the perfect yellow and white polka dot fabric at Joann's. I'm not sure why they didn't have it in their store.

I ended up putting a layer of interfacing in between the two layers of fabric since it was so thin.

My sewing machine and I always have issues. I'm going to get her to like me one day! This time she wasn't so bad. It was my iron that really discouraged me. Well, maybe it wasn't my irons fault... ahem... it was kind of... maybe... possibly my fault.

You see, I've recently learned that you are not suppose to actually use tap water in your iron. Oops.. So, It left a couple of marks on the top. After washing it out a bit... it turned out fine.

The other problem I had was with the velcro. One side stuck perfectly but the other side... not so much. If I would barely pull on it, it would come off. So, I glued it on since the iron on part of it was not working.

Once I had this towel dress all fixed up, I thought it needed a little something more. So, I created a little fabric flower and pinned it on.

I made this Easter Chick Dish Towel Dress for a friend of my Mom's. I'm pretty proud of this one! Whatcha think?
