Kitchen (Semi) Makeover

A few months ago, we purchased paint with the intention of painting the entire interior of our home.

I was extremely tired of the boring white with the ugly brown trim.

We were able to get the master bathroom and bedroom finished then... took a bit of a break.

It took us about two days to complete the painting and another day to get it organized and cleaned up a bit.

I'm so glad that the biggest part of the job is done and Little Mama was a huge help!

We painted the walls Cappuccino White and Fresh Guacamole from Glidden. And we went with a basic white for the trim and ceiling.

I removed some pictures and moved some around and also moved the bookcase. It was too cluttered in the dining area.

I also made new curtains using a shower curtain that I picked up from Wally-World.

To the left of the window is a canvas that I covered in fabric. I'm not so sure that I like it... just yet. I think it needs something more. So, I'm still thinking on that one.

Also, to the left of the mirror is... used to be... a clock that we purchased from Wally World that wouldn't work once it was hung on the wall.  Laying down... worked... Hanging up... not so much. Go figure. So, we took it apart, painted the frame and I put scrapbook paper in it.

Underneath the clock turned picture is the trash can that my Father made for us. I still need to finish it.

This is what I'd still like to do to the kitchen:

* New knobs and hinges
* New flooring
* Lighten the cabinets (not sure how yet)
* New stove, dishwasher and fridge
* And my biggest pet peeve... the freezer... get it out!
* Oh wait... one more pet peeve... the mirror! I need it gone! It drives me batty!

Okay, I'll quit yapping! Here are the before pics...

And the after...
Update: View into the living room.
 So, whatcha think? I like that it feels cleaner and brighter!

    Looks great! I have used the Fresh Guacamole too, but ended up painting over it because it was too light for me. Cabinets??? PAINT 'EM!! I did, and it was one of the best things I've done!

    Merry Christmas!!

  2. Hiya Meg!

    I was trying to get the hubster to let me paint the cabinets white, but now I'm thinking it may be too much white. What color would you suggest? Or should I go with sanding and staining?

    Thanks for stopping by. Glad you like it!
