How to keep up with everything: a guide for housewives

A housewife usually a married woman who does not work officially but spends the majority of time looking after kids and keeping the house clean. Housewives combine many professions: a nanny, a caregiver, a teacher, a cleaning manager, a cook, a seamstress, a nurse, a supply manager, a designer, a dishwasher, a waiter, a washerwoman, etc.

The housewife day consists of thousands of steps. It is necessary to prepare food, clean up and tidy up, at the same time be engaged in raising children, and leave a little time for yourself, for your favorite hobby and maybe for a part-time job. In order not to get bogged down in the mountains of household chores, it is necessary to keep housekeeping competently and in an organized way.

Many housewives are often reproached with hiding that they, as some think, sit at home, do what they want, sleep as much as they want, do not jostle in traffic jams, and they generally live in paradise. At the same time, critics forget that modern people place much higher demands on home hygiene, childcare and education, the quality of cooked food, the distribution of finances and other aspects of everyday life and everyday life.

You need to manage your time and now there is such a thing as time management for housewives. To do everything at home, you need to plan all their activities. The presence of the regime helps to structure life, streamline the day and make better use of time.

  1. Drawing up the menu for the week will help to get rid of the daily puzzle, what to cook for lunch. And you do not have to go to the grocery store every day, which also saves time.
  2. A housewife needs to remember to take care of herself, to always keep herself in a good mood, then things will get better.
  3. You can take advantage of modern housekeeping systems that suggest the basics of self-organizing such as zones, routines, audit trail, timers. They allow you to create your own convenient schedule for cleaning the apartment for a week, and at the same time - not feel mired in eternal restoring order, helps to streamline and systematize the cleaning process, so as not to fall to the night from fatigue and, at the same time, have time for everything.
  4. For example, the order is induced by regularly cleaning each zone strictly for 15 minutes.Cleaning should not begin at the time when it becomes dirty, but regularly and regardless of the condition of the floor/things/ household appliances/plumbing.
  5. Any item returns to its place immediately after use.
  6. You should not save in the house extra things. No matter how sad, pathetic or memorable they are, throw things that are not needed away.
  7. Constantly monitor the corners of the house, which turn into trash more often than others.Eliminate such transformations by regular cleaning. Do not try to do everything at once - start small.
  8. Gradually develop the habit of washing the sink, then the stove - immediately after use, and so on.
  9. Do not buy new things while there are still “old” ones, and do not make stocks.
  10. Put out all the hotspots in time. Such as, for example, a small table in the hallway, where there is a bunch of keys, trifles and necessary pieces of paper by the end of the day - clean it twice a day which takes only 30 seconds but the apartment will look tidy and orderly always.

20 cooking and kitchen lifehacks

In the kitchen, you can not do without a variety of tricks. This applies not only to cooking but also to the food storage and preparation for the cooking process. We are sure that every housewife has her own secrets uses them with success.

Nevertheless, we have prepared some more useful culinary and kitchen tips. You may have already heard about them but did not believe they could work as well as the rest will definitely reveal something new for you.

  1. Do not buy black pepper in the store. It is better to grind whole pepper in a coffee grinder or blender. You can also add carnations - and you will get just a wonderful spice mix!
  2. Check whether the egg is fresh using a glass of water. If the egg floats, it is a sign that it is better not to eat it. If it sinks, then everything is ok.
  3. To easily peel the garlic, smash the hard peel with the back of a knife.
  4. To remove excess fat from the soup, let it cool and then put it in the refrigerator for several hours. The fat will cool and turn into one thick layer, it can be easily removed with a spoon.
  5. To smoothly cut a soft cheese or cake, use plain, non-flavored dental floss or thin fishing line.
  6. After use, the blender is best washed like this: add some water to the beating bowl and turn on the blender for a few seconds so that the blade is well cleaned, then rinse as usual.
  7. If the dish in the oven has not yet prepared but begins to burn - cover it with foil.
  8. To keep the salt dry and crumbly, put some rice grains in the salt shaker.
  9. If you don't have a rolling pin to roll out the dough, use an empty bottle of wine. Or full.
  10. Freeze leftover sauces, broth or small portions of water in plastic bags. Then they will last longer and take up less space.
  11. If you urgently need capers to prepare a meal but do not have them at home - pitted green olives or gherkins will do.
  12. Beets can be not only boiled but baked! Bake a whole beer, sprinkled with salt, adding some honey and balsamic sauce to the tase. Wrap each one separately in foil and put them in the oven for 40 minutes.
  13. When you put the chicken meat on skewers for a barbecue, do it across the grain. Chicken meat is very gentle and can easily fall off the skewers if placed improperly.
  14. Pork can be prepared the next way. Rub it with oil so that the meat absorbs it - the pieces will be slightly oily. Do not pour oil into the pan, smear a little bit of it so that the pork does not burn.
  15. Do not rush to cook meat immediately after purchase. Put it in a refrigerator for a couple of hours to rest. You will be surprised how this will change the taste.
  16. For the porridge to be more healthy and vitamin dense, it should be boiled in water, and milk and sugar should be added when it is almost ready. The fact is that lactose and sucrose at high temperatures bind to proteins not digested in our body as a result.
  17. If you are not a fan of dandelion leaf salad, soak the leaves for 30–40 minutes in salted water and enjoy an extremely healthy meal. As the leaves will leave all the bitterness.
  18. If you do not have butter at home or want to prepare a healthy version of bakery products, you can replace it with ripe avocado or banana, but in the second case, the ready sweets will be more firm.
  19. Fat-free cream, or buttermilk, can be made at home. Add a tablespoon of vinegar or lemon juice to a glass of milk.
  20. If you are cooking homemade noodles or Italian pasta, use a pizza cutter to cut even and thin strips.

Happy Mother's Day!! {The Best Mother's Day Ever!}

I wanted to wish all of you mama's a Happy Mother's Day!

I had a wonderful day spending time with my family. We had a very nice lunch with my Dad, Mom, Uncle and Aunt. Before we left the house I received these heart warming cards from my kiddos...

The front of my son's card. It says, "Your so beautiful, I can't handle it. But, when I see your beauty, it makes me want to cry a little bit."

The inside left of my son's card. It says, "A special thanks from me to you, a day just to you. Now, I give you this card, with no regard, from me to you, to make you smile is what I do." There is a flower in a vase that reads, "It's not real, so don't try to take it off the paper." And a diamond ring in a box that says, "Trust me, it was hard to get that ring into that case."

The inside right of my son's card. It says, "Connect the stars" with stars in the shape of a heart and a poem...
"I love you very much, and don't ever think I do things to you to be mean or annoying, it's always to make my only and favorite mom laugh." Happy Mother's day... "Hugs incoming!"

The front of my daughter's card. I love that she thinks I'm cool, terrific and awesome. Don't you just love how she had to write "upside down."

The inside left of my daughter's card. Poem: Lots of life has gone by since we'd sit around and play. Under water colored skies. Time and I just flew away. Of all the precious gifts you gave me, my favorite one was love. I will always be your baby. Happy Mother's Day!

The inside right of my daughter's card. On the pocket it says, "You're not just a mom. You're a cleaning machine! You love to help people out and be a generous person. Thank you for all the support."

Oh my goodness! They make me laugh! I love them two!

After lunch, my Mom, the kiddos and I headed out to JCPenney to get them some new school shoes. Theirs were in pretty bad shape and no matter how much I kept my fingers crossed that they would make it until the end of school, it just wasn't happening. I also got me some new flip flops!

Next we made a trip to Cato's! I love me some Cato's! My Uncle and Aunt gave me a gift card for Mother's Day and I couldn't wait to spend it! I think my daughter tried on every single pair of shoes they had.

There were so many goodies that I wanted to get, but I had to stay strong! I had to resist the temptation! For now. So, I found a cute pair of shorts and a flower headband for my daughter.

I loved spending the day with my Mom and I'm a bit upset that I didn't take any pictures of her. I think I was just enjoying my time with them all so much, that it completely slipped my mind.

Since I forgot, I dug up a couple of my favorite pictures of my beautiful Mom. I love her to pieces! She's always there for me when I need her.

I hope you all had a fabulous day!

Truncated Posts and Commenting - Opinions Needed

The last few hours I have been reading about blogging. I'm always interested in learning new things that I can use or do that will help make me a better blogger.

There are two things that I have always struggled with and I need your opinions.

1. Truncated Posts.
Love em or hate em?

For those of you that aren't sure what truncated posts are...They are posts that have a few sentences showing and then you will have to click that will take you to the full post.

The main reason why I started doing this on my blog was to have my blog load quicker (especially on Fridays for the linky party).

2. Commenting.
Do you prefer bloggers respond to your comments via email or on your blog? Or do you respond to comments on your blog?

I tend to reply via email when the e-mail address is available, but reply to a commenter on their blog when they are a no-reply blogger.

What do you prefer?

Random Pictures From Yesterday

I couldn't wait to get back home after our trip to see the hubster's doctor. We basically went to discuss the first denial of his back surgery. We decided to try again... now we wait.

I just wanted to share a few pictures that I took yesterday. I did post a couple of them on Facebook, but sharing them here as well. I'm sorry some of them aren't that great. I took them on my iphone.

The Monolithic Dome Institute in Italy, Texas. This place kind of weirds me out.

Entering Dallas, Texas.
While waiting to speak to the doctor, I snapped a picture of this poster.
Some of the traffic we had to deal with on the way back home. I think we were going 10mph here.
Medieval Times. I would love to go here someday.
Sorry about the blurriness! Coors Light Waterfall! I'm not big on beer but I think this is pretty neat!
The sky when we got home.
And another sky pic!
My Mother's Day gift to my Mom. I was excited to get this wrapped up!
Going to Dallas doesn't bother me, but the traffic... wowza! I don't think I could ever get used to that! Do you have heavy traffic in your area?
